Overview
I'm Mio! ("the app") is an Italian language learning app. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
Data We Collect
- Account information: Your Apple ID is used to sign in to the app via Sign in with Apple. We receive a stable anonymous identifier from Apple — your actual Apple ID credentials are never shared with us.
- Practice data: Your translation attempts, ratings, notes, flashcards, and quiz results, used to track your progress and personalise your learning.
- Pronunciation recordings: Audio recorded when you use the "Say It in Italian" feature. Recordings are sent to Microsoft Azure for pronunciation assessment and are not stored after processing.
- Usage data: Sentences practiced, mastery scores, and session counts, used to power spaced repetition and progress tracking.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide and personalise the language learning experience.
- To evaluate your translations using OpenAI's GPT-4.1 AI model. Your translation text is sent to OpenAI for this purpose.
- To generate text-to-speech audio via Microsoft Azure.
- To store your progress securely so it is available across sessions.
